Jenifer Covington is the Kindermusik Coordinator for the Musical Arts center and currently teaches Kindermusik primarily at the 410 and Jones Maltsburger location. She also teaches piano and guitar lessons for children and adults as well as offering adaptive music lessons and music therapy services.
Jenifer began studying the piano at the age of 6 and has been teaching individual music lessons since 1995. She graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a degree in music therapy in 2002. In 2003, she completed additional training and became a licensed Kindermusik educator. Most recently, she completed her Master of Education in Instructional Technology in 2007. Jenifer takes her professional responsibility to continually work to enhance her own knowledge and skills seriously. Her short term continuing education plans include learning more specific pedagogy techniques for teaching piano lessons to students of all ages and levels by attending workshops, conferences, and through more active collaborative relationships with other experienced and respected piano teachers in the area.
Ana Cloninger, Kindermusik Instructor at MACSA near I-10 and DeZavala, began her journey into Kindermusik when her oldest daughter, took a class when she was almost two. Developmentally behind, she thrived in the Kindermusik environment. Later, Ana trained to become a Licensed Kindermusik Educator so she could teach her two youngest children, As she learned about the dramatic effect that music could have on even the youngest of lives, she began to consider the possibility of teaching other children seemed and eventually left the corporate world to share her passion of music and children with others.
