Jenifer Covington is the Kindermusik Coordinator for the Musical Arts center and currently teaches Kindermusik classes at the location near I-10/DeZavala as well as at the NEISD Community Education Center. She also teaches piano and guitar lessons for children and adults and offers adaptive music lessons and music therapy services.
Jenifer began studying the piano at the age of 6 and has been teaching individual music lessons since 1995. She graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a degree in music therapy in 2002. In 2003, she completed additional training and became a licensed Kindermusik educator. Most recently, she completed her Master of Education in Instructional Technology in 2007. Jenifer takes her professional responsibility to continually work to enhance her own knowledge and skills seriously. Her short term continuing education plans include learning more specific pedagogy techniques for teaching piano lessons to students of all ages and levels by attending workshops, conferences, and through more active collaborative relationships with other experienced and respected piano teachers in the area.
