Village: Infant Class

Imagine your child swinging softly in a blanket or dancing with you around a maypole. Village provides a delightful environment unlike any other. Through a unique blend of multi-level activities that includes creative movement, vocal play, object and instrument exploration, and a colorful literature component, your baby’s growth and development are stimulated and all of his senses engaged. Village provides a environment unlike any other. Through a unique blend of multi-level activities, your baby’s growth and development are stimulated and all of his senses engaged.

(0-1.5 years) Zoom  Buggy!—Swoosh, vroom, and clickety-clack your way through this delightful unit. Babies and adults will dance, sing, and play instruments to the theme of being on the go. Chug around the room to the song “Little Red Caboose,” hold on tightly while “Riding in the Buggy,” and dance your way to “Zoom-e-oh!”  Engage in rituals and playful activities such as infant massage, lap bounces, exercise, and quiet time.

(0-1.5 years) Dream Pillow—This title alone brings images of rocking, cuddling, singing, and lulling to sleep.  But leading up to sleepy time are many upbeat and playful activities.  Babies and Adults will swirl to a dreamy cloud dance “Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland.” They’ll also play baby appropriate instruments to “Aiken Drum,” and “Sarasponda.” Favorite nursery rhymes like “Wee Willie Winkie,” and “Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling,” are sprinkled throughout the classes. It’s easy to weave many of the class songs and activities into your families’ daily routines.

Our Time: Toddler Class

Can you sound like an elephant? Or hop like a bunny? Our Time encourages your child to uncover an engaging musical world while building confidence, self-control and communications skills. Singing, imitating sounds, rhyming and object identification foster language skills. Creative movement to various musical “moods” develops a sense of balance, timing and spatial awareness. Listening and turn-taking encourage blossoming social skills.

Creatures at the Ocean - Pretend play makes the most of a toddler's verbal and physical growth spurt. Plus the one-on-one time gives your toddler the love and attention she craves. Sing sailor songs and make the ocean count. "Five little seashells lying on the shore: Swish! Went the waves and then there were four." Make homemade kites and your own fish sandwiches using fish-shaped bread.

Creatures in My Backyard - Give your child something to talk about—or sing about—in her own backyard. Your toddler will learn all about the animals you see everyday: Woodpeckers, caterpillars, ladybugs, flowers, rabbits and so much more. Through music, creative movement, puppet play, instrument exploration, storytelling and singing, your child will uncover the wonder of these creatures living in your own backyard.

(1.5-3 years) Milk & Cookies makes everyday home activities and chores easier and more fun with music! Cook and sing to “The Muffin Man”; dust and clean to the original song “In My House”; get ready to wash clothes to the delightful poem “Washing Machine”. Baking cookies, eating cupcakes, blowing on hot cross buns, wiggling like jelly, going grocery shopping and making tea are all represented in familiar as well as new songs. Move, play, and sing together in developmentally appropriate activities created just for 1 ½ to 3-year-olds. Capture the familiar and new moments of the day and learn how music can impact your toddler.

Kindermusik for the Young Child: K4-2nd grade

Listen as your child astonishes you with her newfound ability to create musical compositions. Kindermusik for the Young Child provides a pressure-free, developmentally appropriate transition to musically succeed before taking on more formal instruction.

(4.5-7 years) Young Child 3: Dulcimer—A  pressure-free approach to learning, but concrete enough because your child is ready for the more abstract thinking processes that music requires. Play remains the primary way a young child learns, so throughout the curriculum there is a consistent effort to balance active learning with the emotional reasoning aspects of a young child’s development in mind.

FamilyTime: Multiage Class

You'll play instruments together, dance together, share, and take turns, and see how music can bring you closer as a family. Your children will listen to instruments and to each other, learn from their peers and older children, and enjoy music and movement with hoops, scarves and tumble-around play. Story time and family jams, puppet play and happy singing—all the Family Time activities encourage discovery and exploration and foster sharing and social skills too. In this special place for musical, social and emotional learning, your children will strengthen their ties with each other and with you—and they'll start developing the skills they'll need in school and on the neighborhood playground.

(0-7 years) Here, There and Everywhere—the five sub-themes center around different family outings:  a visit with a friend, an outing at the park, a trip to the city, an afternoon at the aquarium, and a day on the farm.  Move like animals with this unit’s story Flip-Flap, Sugar Snap!  And follow a girl’s adventure as she loses her jambourine during the day’s outings and then finds it in the story Jingle-Jangle Jambourine.

Sign&Sing: Infant-Toddler Sign Language & Music Class

Hearing children who know signs, learn language almost twice as fast. Through songs, toys, and loving playtime between you and your child, Kindermusik Sign & Sing shows you more than 50 signs your child can use to communicate with you. Using research-proven methods shown to speed language development in hearing children, you'll see how sign language can ease frustration and enhance long-term learning abilities for your child.

Session A: Everyday items around the house—a ball, bubbles, mom and dad—become the objects of learning in the classroom and at home. Parents learn the sign language methods of the experts, such as making the sign in front of a child, on a child’s body, and knowing when a child is most engaged and ready to learn.

Session B: This session reviews the first three Keys to Signing Smart Success™ and provides an in-depth look at the final and fourth Key. New concepts such as in and out, up and down, big and little, tall and short will be explored with more songs and animal-themed activities.
